Hi, I have to do some data transfer from DB2 on OS390 to Oracle database on Sun Solaris. This is a more of a batch process where at some time this process will be triggered and data transfer will take place. I have a doubt here like which stratergy to follow for this like I perceive two options for this : 1. Write a Java class which will connect to DB2 database thru JDBC type 4 driver by IBM then connect to the DB2database and create a XML file and then parse tht XML file and then move to Oracle database. 2. From DB2 database get the data in XML format and then parse the XML file and pass to Oracle database.I want to know whether these option is feasible or if u can give some other solution which can be still easier. Also how to go about it.I want to know can there be a utility to convert the data in DB2 to XML files.
Option #3 Port your data outside of java. Try using the standard utilities provided by either vendor.

I will narrate my problem faced: I have written a Java class which will access the DB2 database on OS390 using the JDBC type 4 driver but am unable to access DB2 system on OS390.I want do do data synchronization with DB2 on OS390 and Oracle on Solaris.
