Class.forName("sun.jdbc.odbc.JdbcOdbcDriver

You are using Oracle as your database, but the 'generic' JDBC-ODBC drivers to connect to it. This driver is not very stable and definitely not recommended for live use.
You are much better off using the Type 4 driver provided with Oracle. It will probably solve your problems too.
