Hi Ranchers,
Im posting this in the Advanced Java forum as well. I am working on my own DBMS (in pure java)and I would like to interface with a JDBC driver. Can anyone tell me what interface(s) must my DBMS implement or do i need to implement all of javax.sql interfaces. Is it possible or futile to do this. My objective is to create a pure java solution GUI - JDBC - DBMS (custom).
Regards

Hi,
Why u want to reinvent the wheel.. you can find the 100% pure java rdbms at www.pointbase.com. Its certified too.
If you are trying to implement it just to gain knowledge then its sufficient to implement java.sql interfaces.
The javax one has features for advanced connection management and result set management. you will not be using it in most of the small scale projects.
Cheers.
