I am fairly new to java, just finished Intro to Java 2 at a community college. I would like to start to learn more about using JDBC and Oracle 8i.
Can anyone recommend a good book on the subject?

You can start by taking a look at Sun's introductory tutorial on JDBC.

Java Programming with Oracle JDBC, by Donald Bales. I have only read this sample chapter, but that chapter was extremely helpful for me. Also, I have posted many links that would be helpful for someone new learning JDBC to Oracle here. It contains links to sample code, code snippets, FAQ's, setting up your JDBC drivers etc.
Good luck,
Jamie
