Hello guys,

I've submitted some new topics to some boards and have checked the option "Email Notification: emails sent to you whenever someone replies." in the options field below.

I've checked through my spam box and there nothing in there too. Could you please check on that?

thanks!

Because you do not have an email address in your profile!

Apparently the Apache mod_psychic_friends is broken again. I'll see if Dionne Warwick is available to fix it.

It should generate an error then?

The forum is trying to email someone which doesn't have any email!

I've corrected the "error". I would be waiting for those emails forever!

thanks!

i believe the software we use requires an email address for everybody when they register.

since not everyone is willing to provide one, a "hack" was written. if no address is given, the account is created with a dummy address of "no_address_provided@javaranch.com".

so, technically, every account DOES have an address. so my guess is that an email IS being sent, and successfully, but it just gets ignored by the JR staffers. there is no error to generate, as everything 'works'.
