Doubts on Dependent Visa

Hi,

I am having H1B visa got stamped in Oct 2004 in Chennai, INDIA. My company is going to send me to US and I want to take my wife (who is having 5 yrs. of solid industry experience in VOIP, SSL, Firewall Network Security technolgies etc.). Now my questions are :

a. what kind of visa will be given to her say if I also want her to work with me in US and can I call such visa as dependent visa ? Can a person taken on dependent visa (H4 B ?) be allowed to work in VISA may be legally after reaching US ? Is it possible in any way ?

b. What all the certificates I require before I take her with me from INDIA since I was told that we need to show marriage certificates and the likes to the concerned indian officials before we leave INDIA. (ofcourse this question can only be answered by people or INDIAN origin and left to US)

c. what are the job prospects for people having profile like my wife.

An alien who is the dependent of an H-1B alien would typically receive an H-4, and an H-4 holder is not allowed to work. If either the consular officer or the CBP officer at the Port of Entry believes that your wife is coming to the US to engage in employment, they have the right to deny the visa or refuse entry.

The correct answer if your wife is asked about working is that she has no plans to do so at this time, but if something comes up later she knows that she must apply for a visa or status that lets her work.
