I want a tutorial that guide me step by step and learn JDBC. hopefully that tutorial use some DataBase that is for a public use or it is free to download so I can practice. What is the best start for somebody newbie and not fast? I know sun has a tutorial but for me it is advanced.

When I was learning JDBC, I used O'Reilly's "JDBC and Java" book. It also taught RMI, which I liked, but you might not. If you don't like Sun's tutorial, you can type "Java tutorial" into Google, and choose from the results. The hardest thing about beginning is setting up the database and getting a connection to it. After that, the interface is pretty easy to use. Good luck!
