Hi Ranchers,

I have around 4 years of work experience in J2EE area with reputed MNCs. Currently I am working in Gurgaon(near Delhi).

I want to relocate to Pune or Hyderabad due to some reasons. Hence looking for some information on software companies in these cities which are doing good work in Java/J2EE that provides scope for learning new technologies and domains.

My current salary is approx. INR 800,000 per annum. The company should atleast match my current salary.

Things that does not matter to me -
1. Brand name of the company i.e., whether it is a reputed company or a relatively less known company.
2. Chances of any onsite travel.

I would be grateful if you can suggest some organizations that match my requirements.

Thanks in advance,
Vijay.

You're already drawing a ver high salary for 4 years expereince, so matching your sal in Pune is goingto a bit difficult. You may want to try folowing companies in Pune -

PSPL
Veritas (there is some Java work there)
EDS
Triple Point
S1
Cybage (if you're good, they'll pay you whatever. But you need to negotiate a lot)
IBM

What Manish told is true. You already getting very good salary and lot of companies may not ready to pay you that amuch salary.

But still you can try companies like CTS, Kanbay, Infosys, Delloite, CSC, DE Shaw.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies. I had couple of more questions.

I have heard that T-Systems has opened a developement centre in Pune and the pay is very good. Any idea on this?

Also can somebody throw some light on DE Shaw (Hyderabad). This is what their website says.

The firm maintains a constant watch for true superstars who might significantly add to its capabilities. Hiring is extremely selective, with less than one candidate in 500 ultimately invited to join the firm.

Any idea about their hiring process?

Regards,
Vijay.

I am not sure what the 'superstars' mean. But they(DE Shaw HR heads( or showmen)) have come to my univ for campus hires. They have bragged about their selection policies all the way. In the end they selected people who were having BE percentage more than 95% . They hired only CS graduates. Exam is not that difficult. Anyway this is for campus hiring.

I have a sneaking suspicion that they heavily look into your academic record and your graduating university.

DE Shaw supposed to be one of best company in Hyderabad in 2000s. But not sure still they are best. Their hiring process will consist of 3 to 4 rounds of telephonic rounds then 4 to 5 personal rounds of interviews. They pay very good. They do expect the person to be master in C or C++ and Java.
