I am going onsite to netherlands for 3 weeks on 12 Sept. This is the first time I am flying abroad from India.
Can someone please tell info on what sort of climate will be there and what type of clothes should I carry. Also a checklist of all things one must have before going abroad.
Thank You

Wow. so finally you settled onto a job and immediatley onsite. Not bad.

Amsterdam is a beautiful place to go. Another advantage you would have is since you would be on a Schengan visa you can go around Europe (about 17 countries allow you to go on the same visa including france, italy, germany, belgium )

Right now its going to be slightly cold. but since you are going for 3 months I think after October, its going to get cold. you better be prepared for cold since Indian winter is nothing when you see European winter.

All in all, you are going to enjoy it.

Holland is a beautiful place....temp. these days varies from 15C at night to 23C in the day.Check on yahoo weather to be sure. Will not harm to carry a small backpack (bike is the most use way of transportation), a light jacket and an umbrella,it might drizzle forever in autumn and spring....winters are Cold...

lookup "lonely planet" and Ping Jeroen Wenting....he should be able to help you out with more info....

Hi Anjali,

Here is a website which has map for Amsterdam. I usually like to get a map of the place before I visit it.
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Resources-g188590-Maps-Amsterdam_Noord_Holland.html

http://www.amsterdam.info/map/
and for weather http://www.amsterdam.info/weather/

The last site is very good for all kind of info. It seems to be warm at the moment in Amsterdam. but its better if you check it before leaving. I had come to Bremen,Germany (the first time)in the end of September and I felt very cold at that moment, and had to buy immediately some warm inner clothes like leggings. also get an umbrella too with you.

I will be here in Bremen till 16th if you want to come to visit me before that you are most welcome.

If you have some language translator with Dutch to English and vice versa that will also be good.

Are you implying that she's going to start work on client site for a deal that was signed yesterday? That means that the vendor sent her resume to the client, they shortlisted her, interviewed her and approved her within the last 24 hours.....??

The weather around here will be different everyday. One day nice and warm, next day nothing but rain and wind. Sometimes even changes like that during the same day, 2 or 3 times even.

For someone from India I would guess that you will find the climate rather cold, though I'm sweating because of that same "cold" climate right now.

So basically, be prepared for anything, especially wind and rain. But probably some sun too

I'd have to agree with Rahul, there wasn't anything in the post worth taking issue with. Except that he loses points for his use of abbreviations (u, ur) so it's much of a muchness. (ie 'whatever')

If you look hard enough you can always find something to get offended at.

Rahul is right. There is no harm in simple prediction, as long it does not offend anyone.

Regarding shortcuts (u, ur), this is an undesirable outcome of using Yahoo and AOL messengers. I dumped them long back.
