distributed transactions

I need to access two different db servers
one is oracle and other is mssql2000
i need some code to be in single transaction, which talks to these two dbs
I think i can do that with JTA but then i would need ap server like weblogic
can i use distributed transactions with jdbc ?
how ?

In a distributed database, can JDBC's Savepoint be used?
