A thin driver is the all-java Type 4 driver. It is often preferred since it provides an all-java solution that doesn't rely on anything except the java application and the database.

hi friend, thin driver ( type 4 ) converts JDBC calls into the vendor-specific database management system (DBMS) protocol so that client applications can communicate directly with the database server.
