Hi Everybuddy,

I am Saagar,i am here in UK on a dependent work permit(OK to work in UK).I have been searching for Jobs in London from past two weeks and need advice from you.

I have gone thru jobsites as jobserve.co.uk, cwjobs.co.uk and the contract jobs seem very good, the salary is around 350-500 a day(for a guy like me with 5 years of IT experience,3 years J2EE exp).I am not sure how much the takehome salary would be and the working climate. As I had been working in US till now, i really don't have any idea about the market here.As my family here does not come from an IT background and i have no friends who know about the scenario here, I need your help.

Can u please help me with this:

1. What can I expect for my J2EE skills?(3 years of J2ee experience, SCJP1.4,XML,UML,C++,VC++,JSP, PL/SQL)

2.Are the consultancies reliable or we shud bargain?

3.Well known Consultancies?

4.How are the interviews?Can we request for telephonic?( As Iam searchin in London and I stay about 50 miles from London, not familiar with the transport and road ways here...)

5.How is the competition?

6.And most importantly if there are other things I need to know about here.

Cheers,
Saagar
