Answering questions is much appreciated here at the ranch. But if all you do is bumping topics that is many years old, and point it to you blog, you are kinda advertising. And if you do it often enough, you may be considered as spamming.
...sometimes we end up replying to a really old posts. More so when google takes us to an old post. I don't think one may dig 5 years of discussion threads to hyperlink his blog URL.
