Could anyone help, I've just bought Visual J++ and want to connect to a MySQL Database but I keep getting various errors the most recent is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError when running in debug mode, I think this is because it can't find the class (obviously) but I'm really struggling to geet anywhere with it, please help....
Cheers

...and what was the class name reported with the java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError ? You need to find out what jar file this class could be, and check if it's in your class path.

Welcome to the Ranch "Ste McC"!
You'll find this forum a great place to seek help on JDBC pages, and there aren't many rules you'll have to worry about, but one is that proper names are required. Please take a look at the JavaRanch Naming Policy and change your display name to match it.
In particular, your display name must be a first and a last name separated by a space character, and must not be obviously fictitious.
Thanks!
