A component defines a set of classes/interfaces in the form of packages that must be used in a particular way to isolate and encapsulate a set of functionality.
Once a component has been created it becomes an independant entity(piece of software) that can be used in other applications.
A component is developed for a specific purpose and not for a specific application.

Object is a Physical entity in software which replicates the real world Objects, means we are modeling the real world Object to the Software Object, so once the Object is created in software may be using java,c++,smalltalk, as a developer I need to maintain the Object's life cycle. Another point is we cannot use the same object in a different similar environments, this is a major problem which concerns about the Object, I would like to give a small example here, say let us take a banking environment in which we have two people say A and B, A's job is to issue money to people who come to the bank and B's job is to accept the deposits, so if we compare the profiles of the both the employee's job, both has to check some papers(INPUTS) and give and take the cash. now, if we program the Objects, we need to create two objects one for each to take care of the problem, but once if I develop a component, it can serve both the purposes, now let us understand what is a component, the major difference between the component and a object is reusability, the above example is the example, and another major difference is in Object both 1.properties of the object 2. behaviour of the object is binbed but in Component both are seperated, in fact both the Object and Component are similar to the outside world, but their design and the purpose are totally different.
I REQUEST ALL TO CORRECT ME IF I AM WRONG, MY MAIL ADDRESS IS "saikumarp47@yahoo.com" AND ANY OTHER EXAMPLES WHICH YOU ALL CAN GIVE.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR SPENDING TIME TO READ MY MESSAGE.
