Best Grad degree

I am thinking about graduate school and I am wondering what some of you are getting degrees in. My BS is in computer science and I am a programmer of average to good ability. I do have many years of management experience before going to school and I was thinking that I wanted to get involved in that side. I am debating between a Masters of Software Engineering and a simple MBA. While I really see myself as more of a software engineer I was thinking that an MBA might have more universal appeal and open more doors. Of course some friends tell me that there is absolutely no need for addional education and still others suggest simple online programs just to gain a piece of paper. Anyone have any experierence with this -more specifically on rather an advanced degree is truely a benefit and what type?

Have you considered a MIS degree? Its like a hybrid between MBA and CS.

If you want to do programming... both are useless, yes even software engineering bcos that deals with project management, cost estimation, SDLC, etc... In that case do masters in computer science or something...

yes for management, any is fine... mba in IT would be better
