Please what is the best and most professional way of loading records that is as large as 50,000 rows to populate an HTML select control.

Thanx in advance.

Simple: don't.

That's way way way too much info for a select. Or any other mechanism.

When faced with a situation where a user must select from a large dataset, I present them with what I've called a "picker": a popup window (actually a floating div rather than a new window) that allows them to page and search through the data to locate their selection(s). That way they are not overwhelmed with a huge amount of data.

Kazeem,
I completely agree with Bear. It isn't usable to have that much data available to the user at once.
