jdbc thin cliend thread problem-inactive sessions

Hi,

I am using tomcat with oracle 9i.There are sessions which that stay inactive for a long time and eat up my resources.Is there any way th kill the incative sessions.

what session are you talking about tomcat session or DB session.
Assuming it is DB session, because incactive session of Tomcat means that session doesn't exist and already been invalidated.

How you are using the connection object and how you are getting that?
Are you using connection pooling mechnism? or getting the connection at the time of request?

Are you getting any exception while using inactive connections? Is it StaleStateException? How do you know some connections are there for a long time and become inactive?
