Hello,

I am trying to access a networked machine through the following JDBC code. I have checked the SID, port, user name and password. The same parameters work smoothly when I use Toad for DB access but fails here.

Here is the error:

I tried replacing the IP address with the machine name but that wouldn't work either.

Regards,
Saket

Hi Saket,

go through following link...HTH

http://www.oracle.com/technology/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/htdocs/jdbc_faq.htm

secondly, in JDBC url paste ur tns entry (google it for proper format)...

also, there could be some version related issues...different format of JDBC url is proposed from Oracle to use Oracle JDBC driver...just check it out..
