JSP-Paging of records in alphabetical order

I have a jsp page in which,i have a set of orcle records.I need a filter by alphabets a through z.

Has Anybody ever done this before.I need some head start as to how to go about it.

Any help is appreciated.

Lookup the Oracle keyword: ROWNUM.

It's a better idea to make a query to the database that will return the data in the ResultSet in the order that you need it, rather than returning a ResultSet that is in random order and sorting it inside the JVM. Moving to the JDBC forum, since the question has more to do with the query rather than the fact that you are doing this in a JSP page...
