urgently required suggesion to work in singapore

Hi,
I am MCA (regular) and scjp 90% and 1.5 yr of experience (excluding MCA training ) Last week On the last day on my social visit to singapore. I got one interview call and I gave the core java and jsp written test having 10 question (which i have done 100% correct confidently) they took small interview of 20 mins..
I go through some consultant.

In the form that is to be filled up by companies. i put expected salary S $3500 and consultant told me that they can give max S$3000
I know i made that mistake and ... that issue is seriously taken up by the co. That is the sofware co. not bodyshopping...
so in the interview ... Interviewer who will give you 3500 S$ ?
I said CitiGroup people in singapore.
Then he said.. they people hire and fire u when they require and ass hole u...
I mean he use such words ....
after that he directly comes to salary and he said that consultant must have told u what we can pay to u..
and all our discussion ends ..
I was not able to ask/discuss the job profile and about co. ? and other thing about project they are going to put me into...

Then consultant scolded me that why i have written 3500 salary then i appologise for that... but after several arugments she said they are ready to hire me... for S$ 2800
She said the job is 6 days a week and may have to work hard.
The designation will be "analyst Programmer"
consultant later said my job profile should be programming jsp/servlets and testing

My real brother living in singapore so living will not be problem..

But pls comment..
Is this salary is enough ??
Should I go for this job ?
What kind of work I will get... ( can any sigaporean tell me about this destination ) ...

I am in Ambiguity that to join this job or not !!
In Gurgoan I am working as Software Engineer with small co. and having a package of RS 3 L/pa

I have plan to do scwcd -> scbcd -> SCDJWS certification of which i have alreay taken vouchers in discount..

In India I work 5 days a week but again the work is not much good. I am not happy. I have strong programming skills but still not given good work like hard core development and doing testing - fixing bugging - copy pasting of code written by other.

What to do ? Guys please give your honest suggestion..
I wanted to become entirprise architech asap.

Yes Tom I somehow skiped the thing that a woman consultant was behaving like that the very first time. It is a risk but maybe it turns oiut to be fine. Maybe he will find some better software house there....

Just some info for those thinking of working in singapore...

take home pay = salary - average 15% tax - approximately 1000$ monthly expense(room rent, food, etc.).

so if you get 3000, you get taxed 450$, spend 1000 for basic needs, so you take home 1550$

(all in singapore dollars)

singapore has one of the best, if not the best in the world, transport system. so you wont need a car, and you wouldnt be able to afford it anyway, as owning and using a car would have you pay additional stuff other than the cost of car itself. also, this country is so small, that the whole country is reachable by an interconnected metrorail system.

weather is tropical. no severe storms, i think due to its location.

3000$ is not far, if far at all, from average, or acceptable salary. although, when the economy was good around 1999, it is easy to get 4000$.

I would say go ahead with the offer and switch the consultant later. I think the salary should be ok to start with since you are single. As said above once the salaries were good in singapore/malaysia....

how much time does it takes to get EP of Singapore if one got job there ?

what should Ishan do... should he left the oppourtunity or take its...
but here self-esteem matters or it will be fine with singaporion chines..

How are the employere there ? do they take care of the employees ? or treat them badly ?
