Is there is any way to connect to Database without JDBC
If yes then how its possible.
Can we use ODBC?

Yes, you can use native database API.

Yes, you can use ODBC, it's called "ODBC JDBC bridge".

This would require JNI to be used , right?

I suppose it depends on database vendor. For example HSQL or Cloudscape(Derby) will have native interface in Java. But Oracle,DB2 will have it in C, C++ or RPG.

You should implement the interface of the specific database of interest explicitly yourself, I mean the actual wire network protocol that handles the communication between the appl and the vendor database.
