backup & restore of db2 database

Hi,
I want to take backup of db2 database v 7.2.2 residing on windows XP and restore it onto db2 v 8.1 on windows 2000.
I have created the tables on windows 2000 machine.How to move data from
XP to 2000 machine.

How big are the files? You could put them on CD, transfer them through FTP, etc. Essentially, they are just like any other file.

I took database backup on XP and tried to restore it on win 2000,but I am not able to restore it.
Can u give me the procedure to do this.Also how to use Generate DDL.

What error message do you get?

Can u give me the procedure to do this.Also how to use Generate DDL.

Take a look at the db2 infocenter. It will walk you through the process.
