Hi
I am developing a small sized application and want to use hibernate for my persistence framework. I currently use SQL Server but am interested in a using free DBMS. Are there any free databases/jdbc drivers you could recommend? I would like something that is not too complex.
Thanks!

MySql is pretty cheap (and free?) depending on your usage. I think IBM CloudScape is now free to use.

Yes, Cloudscape is now free. MySql and postgres are popular free/open-source databases.
