Hi,

I have noticed that I could access MsAccess using
jdbc dbc river{Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=g:\\jal\\data.mdb
with my programs running on Jdk1.3 and previous versions of j2sdk1.4 but not with j2sdk1.4.2_10

I have to use forward slashes with it otherwise microsoft driver doesnot recognise path ie
jdbc dbc river{Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)};DBQ=g:/jal/data.mdb

Is it a bug or some kind of restriction or what?
Comment...

Because on Windows path elements are separated by backslashes, not forward slashes. The file system doesn't know what to do with forward slashes (which are used on Unix-ish operating systems). In some places Windows (and Java) pretend that you can use either, but that's not generally true.

Yes I am using windows...
I have recently tried started using the newer jdk. I had used jdk1.3 before that to code my database application and single classes using double back slashes and now this problem....
