create a hyperlink field in database

i am using Ms Access as my back end and i want to create a table with a field whose type is a hyperlink.What should be the data type that i should specify in my SQL create statement in the JAVA prg. Should it be varchar or is there anything else

Yes, you would use a varchar type field. A URL is just text. It has meaning when you pull it out of the database and display it as a link.
