what is Blob and Clob?

at which application Blob and Clob will be used.just i need some example

Blob = Binary Large OBject, e.g. an image

Clob = Character Large OBject, e.g. a large chunk of text

They map to the SQL types of the same names.

What kind of example do you need? Create table statement? select? insert?

Which RDBMS? Some have special syntax for clobs/blobs.
