I have a very simple standalone java app that I'm writing. I need to hit the DB to query some values and also get some sequence values. We have some existing code that I'd like to use, but I don't think it will work because it uses a DataSource. I'm not using a web server at all. would it be better just to use a drivermanager and forget about the existing code? or should I figure out how to get a datasource? Can someone help me out with that?

many thanks,
lisa

there is nothing special in datasource for your simple application , so you can go with a DriverManager scenario.
