Hi Friends,
I want to get the feedback about Amdocs Pune. How is the nature of work, work-culture and onsite opportunities? Also, does their India office have any development work happening here or is it just palin maintenance/customization?
Please share any information you have in this regard..

Thanks,
Swapnil.

Positives:- Amdocs Pune pays well above the industry standards. Incase owing to ignorance, you have accepted a not-so-great offer, you can still bargain for it.

About onsite, you will be literally glob-trotting every 3 months or so as Amdocs has consistently provided highest onsite chances than any other company in Pune.

Work Culture is semblance to any MNC.

Negatives:-
About the quality of work @ Amdocs, god bless you. Luck is the only word which can help you in this area. Many of J2EE developers are put on C++,Linux, .NET, Shell Scripting, maintenance and what not.

Its a good place for go-getters who want to make their resumes colourfull.

Thanks Prashant.
About work nature, I too had heard that they do maintenance/support mostly here@Pune. And they put you into any technology!
I was just curious that it happens (putting into any other technology) even if the job has been advertised specifically for a Java/J2EE post, and the person has been interviewed specifically on Java/J2EE.. But it seems seems to be the norm in many MNCs/big organizations.

So amdocs does not do product development in Pune? Amdocs is big in telecom billing. I always thought they do their product development over there. If that is the case, then it should be good work.

Probably not a good idea to reopen a three-year old thread.

If you need that sort of information, and they are advertising a job, you should phone or e-mail the company and ask which languages and platforms they use. If they are advertising jobs, and you are a potential applicant, you are entitled to phone and ask such questions. Since we don't allow discussion of specific companies, I shall take the liberty of closing this thread.

Mark, Nitesh, Henry, I hope you don't mind.
