I'm running a simple application on Tomcat5.x with MS sql server as DB. I'm getting this error.

[]Login failed for user 'xxxxx'.
at com.inet.tds.a.a(Unknown Source)
at com.inet.tds.a.<init>(Unknown Source)
at com.inet.tds.TdsDriver.connect(Unknown Source)
at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(Unknown Source)
at java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection(Unknown Source)

Can anybody tell me what and why I'm getting this.?

Looks like you don't have the proper permissions set up. What account are you using to connect? Does that account have permissions to the DB? Are you using the correct password?

what is sql server authentication mode ?
as far as i remember we need to change the authentication to "sql server mode" and not windows authentication. i do not remember the title correctly but you can change it from sql server enterprise manager .

Where can I check for the authentication code.
But, same settings (username/password) work for a different application.

I dont understand why I get this exception if it is application specific.
