Do they only ask algorithms/data structures questions in the interview for Java positions as well? Any experience?

I know a guy who recently applied for a Java position and was not asked a single Java question in his first technical interview (just algorithms).

Google stresses on fundamentals of algorithms, data structures, and C C++ very much. Dont know about tech-interview details.

I heard that Google shortlists resumes having IIT/other Premier institute stamps. (Dont know how far it is true.)

Any body/any idea?

Yep,that's true. But the pay packet is mind boggling. A fresher is offered a sum of Rs.80,000 per month and benefits .

FYI, if you are a open source stalwart i.e., if you happen to engineer an open source technology, they will hunt you out!!.

They need some stamp so that selection process is simpler. Due to absence of above technology heads they resort to University stamps.

Ex:- Python's(a programming lang) creator is working with google.
