Laptop is not offered for every one. It's given for people in some top hierarchy.

And mostly, for the people who travel frequently for official purpose.

But he should only join th ecompany which gives him best brand, such as dell, Sony-Vaio etc. Pls stay away from companies giving Acer or lesser...

jokes apart, it's not just the laptop, but the associated flexibility to work from home, and thats a big plus. I don't understand why this trend is not picking up fast. It's realtively a small investment for the corporates with the potential for very good returns.

Agree with Udaya. Infacts its more beneficial for the employer than the employee. Since having a laptop automatically entitles your boss to interrupt you at night and make you work over the VPN in case of burning issues
