Hello ranchers,

I had problem in running servlets before but everything is working fine. thanks to you guys. now i am trying to access JDBC using web application like servlets and jsp. The book is not detailed. and i have no clue what to do.

they have said that the ODBC-JDBC bridge driver comes with jdk1.2 or forward. and ask me to set up an ODBC data source. so i went in control panel/systems tab and then try to add SQL and then when click finish it asks me how to connect to sql server, i entered my usename and password but says connection failed.

I have not download anything. what is derby.jar? i'll appreciate some links on JDBC connection using servlets or jsp. i google but still less description.

hi Suleman,

you don't give any details yourself:
-what book do you use
-what database do you use (SQL server, or Derby, or ...)
-is your database up and running if you try to connect to it?
