Hi,

I've accidentally posted twice in the EJB & other J2EE forum on the same post (UBB gave an error so I re-submitted)

Can one of the moderators please remove this post as I don't want to artificially inflate my chances of winning !

I don't want to make JavaRanch staff sound lazy here , but you can remove your own double postings. Click on the edit posting icon and check the "Delete post (check box, if yes?)" check box at the top of the page.

Hold on, Dave. I replied to one of those "double posts". Deleting your post might also delete the subsequent ones including mine

Isn't it Paul?

deleting the first post in a thread, whether it's a moderator or the original poster, will remove the entire thread.

Thanks Fred

And if its not the first post in the thread, then deleting that post will NOT affect other posts. Tried it out myself with a dummy topic.

Hold on, Dave.

Dave, you can go ahead and delete one of those double posts. And sorry for all the confusion.

Usually if a moderator sees the double posts and both have advice/replies, we'll lock one, and try to reference the other thread, saying "don't post here, post over there".

if there are no followups in one, i will delete it without comment.

and yes, any post other than the first can be deleted without disturbing anything else - although the subsequent comments might look weird, referring to something that isn't there anymore.

Thanks,

I've deleted the post - I didn't know about the delete option inside the edit page.
