I'm currently experienced in J2EE Enterprise Application development and implementation with an exp of 6 yrs. Mainly in IBM WebSphere, MQSeries, WebServices and all J2EE technologies namely Java, JSP, Servlet, EJB, Struts etc.

I'm willing for a job switch to Proj. Lead/PM and got some offers in hand. I'm undecided about the expected CTC which most of them are asking. Now I would appreciate few inputs from forum friends. Can anyone specify the current best package of J2EE Professional in PM/Team Lead scope? Also, planning for a hop to US hence would like to know what is the favorable perk a 6yrs exp professional get in US?

Thanks a lot friends.

Hi,

You can expect around 12 LPA, because one of my friend having 5+ years of experience in J2EE got offer for 10 LPA. Ask them for 12 LPA + Onsite.

All the best.
Ganesh.

In US I have no much idea, however, I can say that you can expect around
$ 80K per anum keeping tax in mind you plan accordingly. Also, expenses depends on the area/state you are posted.

Thanks & Regards,
Ganesh.

Salary will also depend upon your educational background. Also at 6yrs of work experience, non technical skills (like communication / team management / leadership quality etc) will matter as well.

Than of course lot depend upon how you sell yourself. I know J2EE developers getting salary from 5 to 17 lakhs INR per annum.

So good luck.

Thanks Prakash, yeah you said it right its all abt how well you market yourself. I'm B.Engg and MBA(Operations Mgmt.). Right now i'm in a dilemma to switch my scope to Proj. Lead/PM with 6yrs of dev/implementation exp. So got few offers in India for Managers positions and couple of offers from US on J2EE architects, therefore wished to know the current scale of package in India (b'lore, hyd, etc) and for J2EE architects back in US. Believe me, its a difficult options to choose...at one side you have a position/designation which is offered in India and other side you got a career aspect of growing in trend US IT env.
