hi everyone,
I need your help as i am in real confusion.i got job through campus placement .i have 4 month of expirence now.

1) i am interested in software development in any language(java c++ etc)
but
2)currently i am working in one of best 6sigma company in india(it infrastructure company and not s/w development company). my profile is woring on product which is niche area and nowhere else the product is used except this company.i will become specialist(domain specific) if i work on this product.but i wont have expirence in anything like java c++ .net which is my interest.and if i leave this company after a year this work ex wont be of use.

so what should i do?should i leave this company as it doent give me exposure to my interts and justice to qualification or should i stay back ?

what would you suggest?is the job profile is important in intial phase of career or company?

To be honest, I think you should not work on what you are not interested in.
But don't leave it until you know for sure where should be next.

Try other options if you have in your present comopany else look for opportunities outside. But make sure that you do not have other options in present company and there won't be any career growth with your present work.

Good luck

as the process is just established..and i cant move to any process as its doesnt contain anything related to software development.
so either i have to stay back in same process or leave or change my domain from s/w to n/ws.
what would you suggest?if i stayback in same company working on the product then after a year can i switch to s/w development job in other company?

If you are in India it is not easy for you to sift in software industry, as you won't be having experience in s/w industry. It is easier for you to get job as a fresher.

I as a fresher joined a product company and did not learn much about programming languages, technology etc on the job. I had to learn all updates, advanced features in a programming language by myself. It was also difficult trying for jobs elsewhere, because with experience of a product which nobody used, I was stuck. I think this is the story of most product companies in India. Don't know if freshers in services company learn a lot of new tools and technology.

so i should conclude that its better for me to quit this company right now..looking at future growth and career ..its better for me to join the service company than product one?

well i only have fear that though iam fresher this company pays me nicly and is reputed company..and if i join new company as frehser and they also wont give me development job and pays less than this then what?

i am not bothered about money but about my profile...

Same case happening with me.
But it's regarding the domain i m working on.
I also joined as a fresher and now have 4 months of work-ex in a very reputed indian MNC.
BUt the problem is that i have been put into the telecom domain whereas I was immensly interested in finance. Now they r telling me that i dont have any rights to show my preferences for domain as i m a fresher....
Plus the company has got the ownership of the project on which i m working on. So it means the onsite opportunities r virtually none...
Plz give some advice that whether a 4 months work-ex holds any value in the indian s/w industry? or should i again start attending the freshers offcampuses??
