I am trying to connect to oracle database. Unfortunately, I dont remember what is my SID. So how can I retrieve that ? Secondly, what version of oracle shall I download for practice coding (Enterprise, Lite or which one) ?

Thanks in advance

Jignesh,
Welcome to JavaRanch!

If you look at your tnsnames.ora file, it will contain the SID in use on your machine.

As for edition of Oracle, I recall Oracle Express Edition being free. Best bet is to check on the Oracle site.
