Hi,
I use solid database. From a java program, i pass the swedish characters to the database. I have introduced a CAST function. It stores it but when i query the database i dont get the exact format.

eg : (swedish) gets stored as

Please let me know what needs to be done. I have tried using NVARCHAR n WVARCHAR when casting in the query and my encoding is UTF-8

Presuming your database character set is unicode, you don't need to do anything.

What are you using to check the values in the database?

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
