Which company can be called pay masters???

I think, one that pays following salary:

for 1 year experienced person - 3 LPA
for 2 year experienced person - 5 LPA
for 3 year experienced person - 6.5 LPA
for 4 year experienced person - 7.5 - 8 LPA
for 5 year experienced person - 8.5 - 9 LPA

What you say??

for 2 year experienced person - around 6 LPA
for 3 year experienced person - around 7 LPA
for 4 year experienced person - around 8 LPA
for 5 year experienced person - around 9 LPA
for 6 year experienced person - 9 - 13 LPA

This is with respect to some info i clould gather from my friends

I agree with the second version more... Freshers are offered 3 LPA, so 1 year guy should be placed a bit higher.

I was recruited as a fresher for 4.75 lakh/annum but when I look at other real pay master companies this doesnt look significant...My class mates in Intel after 10 months have got a hike of 20% and their current ctc is 7 lakh...

So real pay master companies are one which pays

Fresher - minimum 5.5
1-yr = 7
2-yr-9
3 yr =11 lakh

>5yr 18 lakh...

Well, I think it all depends on your perception and how much you're drawing -- to me 5 LPA for a fresher looks like ridiculously high!! 2 Yrs -- 9 LPA??? Don't know what to say...

Sorry, I keep seeing LPA on this site. Can someone please let me know what LPA means? What does it stand for? Is that salary per year or per month? Is that the Indian currency? How much does that map to US dollars (US $) nowadays?

Thanks.

Rubens,

LPA means lahks per annum..(1 US dollar =45 Indian rupees(approximately)
So 3 lakh/annum = 6650 dollars/annum(doesn't it sound like a pittance to Americans )

LPA stands - lackhs per annum. Its just became a common abbrevation in India.

For example: 3LPA stands for 3 lackhs per annum(Indian rupees).

1 Lackh = 100,000

I think this is reasonable enough to fit in a majority of pay masters.

This stat might be applicable only for very few companies like Google, Trilogy, DeShaw etc, which again depends on the candidates background and degree (premier institutes like IIT, BTech or Mtech fresher). One thing which i would like to know is the percentage of hikes which is offered to these guys with initial fresher packages like 6 LPA.

I agree with you. Only students from premier institutes like IIT get this type of salaries and only a few companies offer them.

Are you a BTech or MTech grad ?

For an MTech fresher, this salary is pretty less and for BTech fresher, this is pretty good salary.

Look at the percentage of engineers who are getting these high packages. I think will be too less.

What you guys think. What would be the percentage of Software Engineer's getting this much of salary ?

True. Rambo's stats are also right. My class mate (CSE from Anna University, Chennai) is in google and paid 17 LPA for 3.5 yrs exp. He is very very talented and I feel he is worthy for that. He even told me that many of his collegues are PHDs from top universities aboard and its difficult to compete with them.

They take ppl from only premier institutes and interview/work will be very very tough..

Usually such talented ppl. do MS/PHDs aboard and get placed with great salaries there, Now its good that if you are really talented you can earn the same in india.

Rambo,

You are from which college..?

Thanks,
Raja

Very less people get such packages, you can count those people on fingers
while it is possible to get such packages in b'lore , it is next to impossible to get such hefty packages in Pune ,Mumbai, Noida etc

the figure for pune will be approximately like this

for 1 year experienced person - around 2.5 to 3 LPA
for 2 year experienced person - around 3 to 4 LPA
for 3 year experienced person - around 4 to 5 LPA
for 4 year experienced person - around 5 to 8 LPA
for 5 year experienced person - around 5 to 8 LPA
for 6 year experienced person - 6 - 11 LPA

This looks the most appropriate. Infact my company(HCL) would pay slightly less that this. With 3 years of experience in J2EE you'd get around 3.8LPA here.
