I am building a server managing large amounts of data, the method I am trying to implement the following method:
retrieveDataAndPublish(String where, XXXXXX clientConsumer)
The server is responsible for reading the data from a legacy system (slow!!) and sending chunks of results back to the client.
This is being implement as an EJB session bean using the IAS App server. I am familiar with the RMI callback mechanism (as described in ).
My questions:
How should this be done in the EJB world?
Does the client need to be an EJB server?
Can this be done without JMS?
Should this be done without JMS?
What kind of Object is passed in XXXXX?
Answers or reference articles most welcome.
