Anyone able to successfully start J2EE and run an app on Win98? I'd like to know if it is really possible (I've seen some posts saying yes) as I don't want to install Windows 2K yet.

Hi the supported platforms as stated in the documentation
Supported Platforms for J2EE sdk 1.2.1
SolarisTM Operating Environment, version 2.6
Windows NT, version 4.0
Supported Platforms for J2ee sdk 1.3
SolarisTM 7, 8
Windows NT, v. 4.0
Windows 2000 Professional
Linux Redhat, v. 6.1
I have both versions installed on windows 2000 with 256 MB ram and things work fine.
Any idea of the Minimum ram requirements specified anywhere as i too may have to install J2EE sdk on Win98 soon on another system.

Hi,
Even I too had installed the J2EE server on Win98. I even deployed a bean, but there are certain glitches....So, I shifted to WindowsNT. Now, I am not having any probs.
So, its better to have it installed on NT rather on 98.
Bye...
Regards,
Shibs
