On Sun's installation guide I noticed that it says Classpath needs to be set to include the jdbc driver classes. On my linux box, it says it should be set up like the following:
/opt/oracle/jdbc:/usr/local/db/driver.zip
I haven't installed the j2ee yet. I was just browing the instructions, and I couldn't find these directories on my computer. Are they created when I install? Are they just missing from my os? And do I need them if I don't have them?
Thanks for any help, as I take the plunge into the world of j2ee!

Sean,
Let say you are trying to set up the driver for Oracle and it is located at c:\classes111.zip. Now i am accoustomed to a Windows machine so i will tell you what i do. I set up the J2EE_CLASSPATH to this classes111.zip file. Like this
set J2EE_CLASSPATH=C:\CLASSES111.ZIP;
The drivers are not provided by sun. You have to get the driver zip/jar file yourself. If sun points out to a location that means that they may have been put there if you installed the database on the same system.
