This is pretty much the stuff that is running JavaRanch right now.
I think this is a pretty good idea - if nothing else, you can tinker around with EJB's and JSP's that are served up live.
For what it's worth, we're using Orion at work. I made some quick tutorial stuff (with some help from sheriff Marilyn) for using EJB... see www.javaranch.com/orion.jsp
