looking for any info on getting EJBs talking to CORBA servers. The CORBA IDL exists and I want to develop an EJB to talk to the CORBA server over this interface.
A simple working example of this would be excellent - or any links to a similar topic pleez
And thanks in advance...

Communicating Corba Server from an ejb involves three steps:
1.Compile the idl:
This produces the stub and skeleton code that implements location transparency. That is, it will convert an object reference into a network connection to a remote server and then marshal the arguments we provide to an operation on the object reference, convey them to the correct method in the object denoted by our object reference, execute the method, and return the results. (here u can use idl2java tool from Inprise Visibroker)
2.Write Ejb Client code:
When implementing a CORBA client as a Java application (EJB), follows these steps:
- Initialize the CORBA environment; that is, obtain a reference to the ORB.
- Obtain an object reference for the object on which to invoke operations.
- Invoke operations and process the results.
3. Configure & Run the ORB agent/Server and Client
Configuration involves - making the default ORB as whichever u used and including ORB libraries in the EJB server classpath.
- Deploy EJB
- Start the ORB agent & CORBA Server
- Run the client mentioning the orb location
Hope this helps.
