The Pet Store was never meant to be an optimal solution. It is demonstration code designed to let you check to make sure that your J2EE implementation has been installed correctly. This "competition" was one-sided as MS was the only one competing.
How anyone can believe a word from Microsoft when their Chairman knowingly lied in a federal court while under oath is beyond me.

hi ..
I understand the reaction of you guys about this.
But why the hell Sun is sitting quiet and not giving proper explanations to this rumours microsoft is spreading openly.
I had been to microsoft user group competetion about webservices, and i found this couloured brochure which really made me sad as a Java guy.
Can anyone come up with a strong explanations about this.

why should they comment on any rumours ?
i think (hope) anybody in the position to decide about .net or j2ee realizes that neither MS nor SUN, IBM....would publish tests where it's products finishes last.
however, according to the article of ibm (see post above) the testing enviroments and judging guidelines were real unfair......i dont know if any company but MS would do this.
only trust statistics you faked yourself..........

this is the link L Goundilkar where you get Sun's Response.
This Sun's CEO Scott McNealy's Response. He is just unplugged.

I hope this will unplug many java lovers.
Shailesh.
