Does any one has good handle on using the Middle tier DAta Cache MAnaging tools like BbjectDesign'd Javlin.
My main concern is, When the app server is running with the Javlin data Manager, does it know when ever the underlying database value gets modifued by one client request and the cache is updated or refreshed with the latest data from the database so that the next client request always gets the latest data from database. Is this Correct?
our requirement to get always the latst data from the database.
Thanks
Sri

Don't expect the appserver to be listening to the database for out-of server changes. That's a lot of overhead.
In the context of EJB's, a cached EJB is NOT the same thing as a cached row in a database anyway. There is no fundamental requirement for there to even BE a database involved in persistent bean storage. Any connection that does exist is courtesy of a particular bean container implementation, and then only in the case of CMP beans. BMP beans are on their own and Session Beans aren't expected to maintain long-term persistence.
