Hi Need some clarification please..
1. What is the major difference between the statefull and entity bean?
I know entity beans data is very secure.
2.How long the statefull bean can hold data?
3.what is the maximum amount of time an statefull bean will stay alive
4.What is the maximum amount of time and entitiy bean will stay live in case of BMP
5.What is the maximum amount of time and entitiy bean will stay live in case of BMP

The answers for 2 through 5 are dependent upon how you have configured your app server.
The answer to 1 is that entity beans hold persistent data. If the server goes down the data in a session bean is lost.

This doubt is regarding application server.
I am using J2EE as an application server.
1. will it act as web server also?
2. Application server control the container is this rt?

The answer to 1 is yes. I'm not sure I understood the second question.
