J2EE and web server

Hi
1. What is the web server J2EE application
Server uses by default
2. Can I configure this J2EE application server
to the any other web server
I have tomcat 4.0 rt now my J2EE is using
this web server. I configured tomcats jdbc
JNDI and working fine
3. Can I use the same configuration to acces my
databse through EJB? In brief I want to know
whether the JNDI configuration is common for
both Webserver and J2ee.

What is the web server J2EE application
Depends on the Vendor, usually for production systems we go for apache, IIS etc. Normally all J2EE vendors come with inbuild webservers for development purposes.
Can I configure this J2EE application server
You have to follow vendors configuration
instructions.

Can I use the same configuration to acces my for databse through EJB? In brief I want to know

both Webserver and J2ee.
I don't think so, webserver environment is different from app server.
Any comments?
