I'm just reaching the EJB level in my journey to become a good java developer. I'm getting geared up to begin a new project involving sending information into a database from a JSP. Our project lead for the java group said this would be a great time to learn EJBs. I could just touch on some of the basics in this project to slowly become conforable with EJBs.
So my question is how hard is it to create a small bean that would take a few params of information (given from the JSP) and have the bean send that information to the database? I'm already confortable with JDBC, JSPs, and Servlets. The bean is just a whole new world to me.
Lastly, what would be next? I understand there is a great deal to truly understand and implement EJBs by distributing objects and so forth, but is this the ceiling when it comes to J2EE? Is there anything out there that is more advanced than EJBs?
Thanks for any direction.
