Hi,
Everytime when ever i read about "location transparency", i get the definition as "client should not know where exactly the server side application (EJB) is running", but transparency literally means "a layer by which one can see through". The word and the defnition seems to be contradictory for me. Can anyone throw a light on this ?

They mean it in the sense that the location is not visible. Consider a window. If it is sufficiently transparent, you cannot tell it is there. However, if the window is colored (tinted), then whatever you view through the window will appear tinted as well, and changing the tint of the window will change the apparent color of the object that you view through the window.
So, "location transparent" means that the location of the EJB is invisible to the client - the EJB location is the "tint", and you want to eliminate it.
